Bend Municipal Airport FAA Identifier: BDN Field Elevation: 3,456 feet Mean Sea Level (MSL)
The Bend Municipal Airport is located approximately 5 miles to the Northeast of the City of Bend, Oregon. There is a single, main runway, Runway 16/34, which runs in a north/south direction. The runway is brand new and opened on October 25, 2007 and is approximately 5,200 feet in length and 75 feet in width, and is an asphalt surface in perfect condition. There is a single, parallel taxiway which runs the entire length (and located on the west side) of Runway 16/34.
Runway 16, the primary directional runway, is served by a non-precision Instrument approach, and a 4-light VASI (Visual Approach Slope Indication) system. Runway edge lighting includes a MIRL (Medium Intensity Runway Lighting) system for approaches from either direction.
