Christopher Bennett - Flight Instructor
Christopher is a bright and shining new addition to our crew.

Chris has always loved flying, from his youth he remembers looking to the skies and seeing a Super Marine Spitfire I.  Chris said that his father explained that plane played a role in winning WWII.  Chris and his dad used to visit the ramp at Hillsboro and walk around looking at all of the different aircraft parked there.

Christopher began flying at the Hillsboro Aerodrome in 1997, but he shattered his left arm skydiving three days before his solo.  Flying was on hold for two years, but Chris began  flying again  in  2000 at McClelland Palomar (CRG) Carlsbad, CA.  Christopher did more training at North Las Vegas (VGT), went back to Hillsboro (HIO), then finished all of his ratings at Aurora (UAO).

Chris’s most memorable flight was his first as a private pilot.  He had taken his father out for a $100 hamburger to Tillamook (S47) to celebrate his new rating.  They toured the Air Museum (his dad loved the P38 Lightning) enjoyed their hamburgers, then took off up the coast to turn east and fly down  the Columbia River.  He had a total electrical system failure and had to make a precautionary landing at Astoria (AST).  Chris was glad his instructor made him do no-flap landings.  When he is not flying, Chris loves to skydive (over 3K), target shoot, hike, explore the wilderness and he loves to ride really fast.
